AMAZON KINGFISHER(Species Account Weblog #108)

The Amazon Kingfisher is a resident of lakeshores and large-slow flowing rivers from northern Mexico south to central Argentina. They’re giant darkish bronzy inexperienced birds with a ragged crest, a white throat and collar, and a white stomach; the breast of the male is rufous, whereas the feminine has a narrower inexperienced breastband.. Much like the Ringed Kingfisher, we noticed Amazon Kingfishers at low to mid-elevations on the Tárcoles River, close to Sarapiquí and Arenal Volcano NP.
